The Sailing Scheme

The Sailing Levels

Level 1, the basic level of sailing where students learn the basic skills in boat control and safety. By the end of this level students will be able to confidently sail by themselves.

Level 2, this is a more advanced level were students improve their boat handling skills learn the theory behind the maneuvers. By the end of this course students will be able to sail their boats more efficiently and be able to sail without the need of safety cover.

Level 3, students learn advanced sailing maneuvers, such as anchoring and picking up a mooring. This level teaches the students more seaman ship skills and improved their boat control skills

Level 4, designed to introduce racing. This teaches students racing rules and skills.

Level 5, advanced level sailing.

Instructor Level, teaches students the teaching techniques and provides them with the knowledge required to run a safe lesson

Safety is extremely important to the staff of ESS, and strict safety guidelines are in place. It is our aim to provide a safe environment in which the students can enjoy learning to sail.
